1. Our top pick just had to be Jackson!
In celebration of Christmas, the state’s capital city has a ton of holiday-themed events planned for the entire month of December. If you’re moving to Mississippi, looking for events specifically for children, visit the Mississippi Museum of Art’s Bethlehem Tree exhibit. But you want something for the whole family, go to the annual Carols by Candlelight. See? Jackson is a great place to truly enjoy the holiday spirit.
2. Mississippi Christmas in Biloxi

From the city’s annual Christmas on the Water celebration, which involves land and water parades, fireworks, arts and crafts, and even Santa Claus, to the gorgeous decorations at Beauvoir, it is easy to see that a visit to Biloxi is just what Santa ordered.
3. Canton

The city’s Christmas season celebration includes everything from the Canton Animation Museum – which is an area filled with 135 life-size animated holiday ornaments and statues, to historic trolley tours. 5. Purvis
For over two decades, the Lewis family has been working on helping transform the city of Purvis into an embodiment of the Mississippi Christmas spirit. How do they do it? With their larger than life Christmas display, which has over 200,000 lights and several pieces of original art. Each year, locals look forward to the dancing lights, but they certainly aren’t the only ones who enjoy it. The display has actually attracted visitors from as far away as Canada, Europe, and even as far away as Asia! The light show is located at 280 White Chapel Road, is free to attend ( but donations are encouraged). This event is open seven days a week, if the weather permits, from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm until Christmas. And then 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm until December 31st. Merry Christmas all!
